moralise

I can't find the link now because the story is about two weeks old...but I was reading BBC news the other day and there was an article about a 15 y/o girl giving birth in the middle of her catholic school class. These stories seem par for the course these days, but what was intriguing about this particular one was the head priest's reaction to the event. He said, and I'm paraphrasing now... that one should not moralise on such events but just be happy that both mother and child are doing well.

what a relief to see this birth taken at face value and not turned into a moral campaign about the degradation of society. i'd be willing to bet if this had taken place somewhere in this country we'd not have been as dignified in our response.
